ANTONOV Airlines in cooperation with AirPartner delivered a valve for an oil refinery from Italy to Middle East.
To load and unload cargo weighing about 20 tons and over 3 meters high into the cargo cabin of the AN-124-100, a low-profile cargo ramp manufactured by ANTONOV in-house engineers was used in combination with external cranes.
“Despite the cargo was not something oversized or heavy, as usual for our aircraft, this particular unit required using our special loading equipment (ramp system) and external cranes, due to very sensitive lifting and lashing points”, said Eugene Kiva, Commercial Executive, Antonov Airlines.
The Shipper had to produce and weld some extra schackles on the bottom of the unit, for our technical team to be able to lash it properly inside our aircraft and withstand all the G-forces during the flight.”
Eliska Hill, SVP Cargo – UK & ROW commented “This particular delivery required specialist planning to ensure the oversized equipment was delivered with care and on time”
The collaboration of leading logistics experts who respond quickly to critical missions ensures the completion of the mission within the required timeframe as well as accuracy and reliability at every step of the transportation.
