Lufthansa connects Munich to Bangalore

Singapore freight forwarders – Star Concord

Lufthansa Group has commenced a new route, linking the Indian metropolis of Bengaluru (Bangalore) with Munich, capital of Bavaria. Alongside Delhi and Mumbai, Bengaluru is the third Indian city with a direct connection for travelers via Germany’s only 5 Star hub Munich.  With a population of 12+ million, Bengaluru is India’s third-largest city, a center of the aerospace industry, as well as an important IT hub.  Due to its many parks, Bengaluru, located to the southwest of the subcontinent, is also often known as India’s “Garden City”.

India in Focus

With a legacy in India that spans more than 90 years, Lufthansa Group currently operates 50+ weekly frequencies between India and Europe. The Indian aviation market is currently the 3rd largest globally and India has also recorded the highest GDP growth rate in APAC over the past 12 months. This Munich-Bangalore service represents Lufthansa’s strong commitment to the Indian market as Lufthansa Group’s capacity to India exceeds pre-COVID levels.

With a thrice-weekly frequency departing at 11:55am MUC time, guests of Lufthansa will enjoy their experience on one of the most modern and fuel-efficient long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900. As with all services to India, local cuisine and catering will be offered to passengers onboard their direct service from Munich to India’s “Garden City”.

Before departure, the new MUC-BLR connection was celebrated with a ribbon cutting: Framed by the brass band and the Lufthansa crew are (enter from left) Thomas Kube, Vice President Route and Passenger Development at Munich Airport, Simona Sommer, Bavarian Beer Queen 2023 and Heiko Reitz, CCO Lufthansa Airlines.
